Am 23. Juli 1881 wird in Lüttich die Fédération Européennes de Gymnastique (FEG) von Nicolas J. Cuperus gegründet. Gründungsmitglieder sind Frankreich, Belgien und die Niederlande. 1921 wird die FEG zur Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt hat die FIG 16 Mitglieder.

Obwohl das Internationale Olympische Komitee die FEG zu den ersten Olympischen Spielen der Neuzeit 1896 zulässt, nimmt diese nicht den Spielen teil. Erst 1908 beteiligt sich die FEG das erste Mal offiziell an den Olympischen Spielen.

Einen ersten eigenen internationalen Wettbewerb organisiert die FEG 1903 in Antwerpen. Die ersten offiziellen Weltmeisterschaften im Kunstturnen der FIG finden jedoch erst 1931 in Paris statt. Frauen dürfen zunächst nicht an den Weltmeisterschaften teilnehmen. Ab 1934 richtet die FIG dann auch Wettbewerbe für Frauen aus.

Um die Wettbewerbe fair zu gestalten, werden 1949 die ersten Wertungsvorschriften der Männer eingeführt. Heute gibt es für jede Disziplin - das Allgemeine Turnen ausgenommen - einen umfangreichen Wertungskatalog, den sogenannten Code de Pointage.

Um Turner jenseits des Wettbewerbs zusammen zu bringen richtet die FIG 1953 in Rotterdam die erste Gymnaestrada aus. Dieses Turnfest findet von da an alle vier Jahre an wechselnden Standorten statt.

Die FIG beginnt in den folgenden Jahren neben dem Gerätturnen auch weitere Turnsportarten zu vertreten. So werden 1963 in Budapest die ersten Weltmeisterschaften in der Rhythmischen Sportgymnastik ausgetragen, 1995 finden die ersten Aerobic-Weltmeisterschaften in Paris statt. Seit 1998 ist die FIG auch der Dachverband der Trampolinturner.

国际体操联合会（法语：Fédération internationale de gymnastique；英语：International Gymnastics Federation）为竞技体操的全球理事机构，常缩写作FIG。其于1881年7月23日在比利时列日成立，现总部设置在瑞士洛桑。截至2021年，国际体操联合会会员国已超过150个，每年举办林林总总的体操赛事和活动，例如在奥地利举行第十三届世界普及体操节2007。国际体操联合会的正式用语为英语、西班牙语、法语、德语。

国际曲棍球联合会（英语：International Hockey Federation；法语：Fédération Internationale de Hockey sur Gazon，缩写：FIH）简称国际曲联，是全球性的曲棍球运动管理机构。

曲棍球进入奥运会较早，但其地位不稳。1908年伦敦奥运列为比赛项目，1920年安特卫普奥运也有曲棍球比赛，而1912年斯德哥尔摩奥运和1924年巴黎奥运却没设此项目。巴黎奥组委拒绝曲棍球的理由是该项目没有国际组织。这大大地刺激了曲棍球运动的爱好者，于是法国人莱奥泰（Paul Léautey）倡议，于1924年1月7日在法国巴黎成立了国际曲棍球联合会，莱奥泰就任第一任主席。七个创始国包括奥地利、比利时、捷克斯洛伐克、法国、匈牙利、西班牙和瑞士。国际曲联迅速吸纳了许多成员国和得到国际社会承认。1982年，国际曲联与IFWHA（国际女子曲棍球联合会）合并，IFWHA是于1927年由澳大利亚、丹麦、英格兰、爱尔兰、苏格兰、南非、美国和威尔士发起成立的。

Die Fédération Internationale de Hockey, auch International Hockey Federation, (FIH) ist der Welthockeyverband mit Sitz in Lausanne. Er organisiert verschiedene Hockey-Wettbewerbe wie zum Beispiel die Hockey-Weltmeisterschaften. Präsident ist seit November 2022 Tayyab Ikram aus Macau. Die FIH wurde am 7. Januar 1924 in Paris gegründet und besteht aus 137 Nationalverbänden (Stand: August 2021).

国际汽车联合会（简称国际汽联；法语：Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile，缩写：FIA），为成立于1904年6月20日的非牟利性国际组织，主要致力于促进赛车运动，为所有世界各地的驾驶者提供安全、可持续和无障碍的驾驶环境。其成员包括全球145个国家的246个组织。总部位于法国巴黎（未来将迁至瑞士苏黎世），现任主席为让·托德（Jean Todt）。

国际汽车联合会通常被人们认为是汽车与摩托车运动的主管组织。1922年，国际汽联将汽车与摩托车运动事项交与国际运动委员会（Commission Sportive Internationale），这个自治组织后来即演变为国际汽车运动联合会（Fédération Internationale du Sport Automobile）。1993年，国际汽车联合会重组，国际汽车运动联合会被撤消，其相关事务被纳入国际汽车联合会的直接管理之下。

Die Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (Abkürzung: FIA) ist ein internationaler Dachverband von Automobilclubs und Motorsport-Vereinen mit Sitz in Paris.[1] Der Verband wurde am 20. Juni 1904 als Association Internationale des Automobile Clubs Reconnus (AIACR) gegründet.

国际班迪球联合会（英语：Federation of International Bandy，FIB）是一个国际性的班迪球体育组织，由世界各国的班迪球协会组成。总部设于瑞典卡特琳娜霍尔姆。目前共有26个会员协会。[1] 世界班迪球锦标赛创立于1957年，女子赛是在2004年才加入。

Die Federation of International Bandy (FIB) ist der internationale Verband im Bandysport. Der Verband wurde 1955 im schwedischen Katrineholm von Vertretern Schwedens, Norwegens, Finnlands und der Sowjetunion gegründet.
