„A Life on the Ocean Wave“ ist ein Gedicht, das 1838 von Epes Sargent veröffentlicht und von Henry Russell vertont wurde. Es ist der berühmte Regimentsmarsch der Royal Marines seiner Majestät. Eines Tages ging Sargent auf der Battery in New York City spazieren und beobachtete die Schiffe beim Einlaufen in den Hafen.
