艾德蒙·希拉里
Sir Edmund Percival Hillary (KG, KBE; * 20. Juli 1919 in Auckland; † 11. Januar 2008 ebenda) war ein neuseeländischer Bergsteiger. Zusammen mit dem nepalesischen Bergsteiger Tenzing Norgay, einem Sherpa, gelang ihm am 29. Mai 1953 die Erstbesteigung des Mount Everest, des höchsten Bergs der Erde.

艾德蒙·珀西瓦尔·希拉里爵士，KG，ONZ，KBE（Edmund Percival Hillary，1919年7月20日－2008年1月11日），是新西兰登山家和探险家，在和夏尔巴人向导丹增·诺盖的合作之下，他和丹增·诺盖成了最早成功攀登珠穆朗玛峰峰顶的人。

艾德蒙·希拉里出生于奥克兰附近的图阿考。他在奥克兰文理学校（Auckland Grammar School）就读期间，每天来回路程需要两个多钟头。他在少年时期要比同辈同学矮。

十六岁时，希拉里随学校旅行到鲁阿佩胡火山，这激发起了他对登山的兴趣。这让他发现自己非常强壮，并且具有比他的登山同伴更强的耐力。

在第二次世界大战后，希拉里成为了新西兰皇家空军的导航员。

在1951年他参加了新西兰珠穆朗玛远征团，但是他们失败了。到了1953年时，他又加入了英国远征尝试团并成功登顶：在当年的5月29日希拉里与尼泊尔夏尔巴的向导丹增·诺盖一起到达了29,035 英尺（8850 米）的山顶。下降以后，有人传说这位蜂农就讲这一句话“We knocked the bastard off!”（“我们征服了这家伙！”）。在1956年、1960-61年和1963-65年期间他又参观与攀登了喜马拉雅山的其它十个峰顶。1958年1月4日，希拉里参加了英国的联邦横越南极洲远征，并随后到达了南极。

他在1953年7月16日受勋为英帝国勋爵士。1987年他又获颁新西兰勋章（Order of New Zealand）。1995年4月23日他又被授予嘉德勋章（Order of the Garter）。

在一次尼泊尔的空难中，希拉里失去了他的妻子露丝和女儿彼连达。后来他又与June Mulgrew结婚。他的儿子彼得·希拉里也是位冒险家，曾两次攀登珠峰。

晚年在新西兰过著安逸的退休生活。2008年1月11日，希拉里因为心脏病发在奥克兰市医院逝世，享寿88岁。
