朝鲜战争是朝鲜半岛上的朝鲜民主主义人民共和国（朝鲜）与大韩民国（韩国）之间的战争，中华人民共和国、苏联出兵支持朝鲜，而16国组成的联合国军（主要为美国）出兵支持韩国。在三八线发生冲突及南部发生四三事件等事态后，朝鲜人民军于1950年6月25日跨越三八线南下入侵韩国，战争开始，联合国军与中国人民志愿军先后参战，最终于1953年7月27日在板门店签署《朝鲜停战协定》，根据停战时实际控制线建立朝韩非军事区作为缓冲地带。朝鲜半岛南北双方仍有外交冲突和军事对峙，持续至今。

Schlacht um Okinawa
冲绳岛战役（又称冲绳战役、日语：沖縄戦，英语：Battle of Okinawa），盟军代号为“冰山行动”，是在琉球群岛中冲绳本岛进行的一场战役，也是第二次世界大战太平洋战场中规模最大的两栖登陆行动以及最后一场战役。战役从1945年4月上旬开始持续到6月中旬，为期82天。
