Lake Placid
Lake Placid (englisch placid (Adj.) „gelassen“, „still“) ist ein kleiner Wintersportort in den Adirondack Mountains im Essex County des Bundesstaats New York. Lake Placid war 1932 und 1980 Austragungsort der Olympischen Winterspiele.

Die Thousand Islands (dt. „Tausend Inseln“) liegen am Abfluss des Ontariosees in den Sankt-Lorenz-Strom, in der Grenzregion zwischen Kanada und den USA. Die Inselgruppe besteht aus 1864 Inseln, wobei Wolfe Island die mit Abstand größte ist und Insel Nr. 15 die kleinste.

Sagamore Hill
Sagamore Hill was the home of the 26th president of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt, from 1885 until his death in 1919. It is located in Cove Neck, New York, near Oyster Bay on the North Shore of Long Island, 25 miles (40 km) east of Manhattan.
