Information Management System (IMS) ist ein Informationssystem des Unternehmens IBM, das auf IBM-z-Systems-Servern unter z/OS betrieben werden kann. Hierarchical File System (HFS)/zSeries File System (zFS) is a tree structure consisting of multiple file systems. A file system is a logical collection of directories and files. The highestlevel directory in the hierarchy is the root directory, which is often kept in a file system with only a few other directories. Each file system is made available by a process known as mounting the file system. It is mounted at a mount point that is a directory in the higher-level file system.
