Die Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II ist ein US-Kampfflugzeug, das aus dem Sieger des „Joint Strike Fighter“-Programm (abgekürzt JSF, deutsch „gemeinsames Kampfflugzeug“), der X-35, entwickelt worden ist. Die F-35 gilt als das erste Tarnkappen-Mehrzweckkampfflugzeug.

Der Airbus A400M ist ein militärisches Transportflugzeug von Airbus Military. Die A400M ist mit vier Turboprop-Triebwerken ausgestattet und zeichnet sich gegenüber ihren Vorläufern durch eine sehr viel höhere Nutzlast und Reichweite aus. Sie soll in verschiedenen europäischen Luftwaffen den veraltenden Bestand an Transportflugzeugen ersetzen, vor allem die deutsch-französische Transall. Obwohl sie hauptsächlich für den militärischen Einsatz konzipiert und entwickelt ist, erfolgt ihre Zulassung auch nach den Richtlinien des zivilen Flugzeugbaus, ein Umstand der maßgeblich zur Komplexität der Entwicklung und zur Verteuerung beitrug.[2]
Ende des Jahres 2007 wurde mit dem Bau des ersten Prototypen begonnen. In Serie sollte die A400M ab dem Jahr 2008 gehen, aber Ende 2007 gab Airbus bekannt, dass es zu einer Verzögerung von zweimal sechs Monaten kommen werde; diese zweimal sechs Monate sind vertragsrechtlich begründet – sollte Airbus eine Verzögerung von mehr als sechs Monaten eingestehen, so waren die beteiligten Nationen berechtigt, aus dem A400M-Programm auszusteigen, was aber nicht geschehen ist.
Der Rollout der ersten Maschine erfolgte am 26. Juni 2008 in Sevilla, die ersten Bodentests begannen am 3. September 2009.[3] Der Erstflug fand am 11. Dezember 2009 statt.[4][5] (Quelle:http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airbus_A400M)
